Deposit for Rental

How Much is the Deposit?

• A $100 Refundable Deposit Per Scooter is Required for Rental – This Policy is Non-Negotiable.

Will My Deposit Be Refunded?

• If your electric scooter is damaged during your rental time, repair costs will be deducted from the deposit.

• If damages equal more than the deposit, your credit card will be charged the difference between the $100 deposit and the remaining balance of the damage costs.

• If your electric scooter has incurred no damages during your rental time and/or you return your rental scooter on time, the full deposit will be refunded  as outlined in the section below.

How Long Does It Take for My Refund to Process?

The amount of time it takes to process the refund depends on how the deposit is made.

• Credit Card Deposits:
If the deposit is made in the shop via a credit card – the refund request amount, minus any late fees or damaged equipment fees, will be submitted via our in-house point of sale system once the scooter has been inspected by Company staff upon return.

*Note: Most credit card companies  have a standard time period of 2 to 7 business days – NoLa Scooters does not control the amount of time it takes to process the refund.

•Cash:
If cash is used for the deposit, the cash deposit will be returned, minus any late fees or damaged equipment fees, once the scooter has been inspected by Company staff upon return.

•Online Deposits:
If the deposit is made via our online booking system, – the refund request  amount, minus any late fees or damaged equipment fees, will be submitted via our  online booking system once the scooter has been inspected by Company staff upon return.

Additional Reasons for Deposit Forfeiture

• If an unauthorized party is discovered to be  operating or riding the scooter, the deposit is forfeit.

• If the participant takes the scooter beyond the set geographical boundaries, the deposit is forfeit. 

• If the rental return time is exceeded, a portion of the deposit will be used to pay for the additional time.  As the saying goes, “Time is Money.”

• If the scooter is damaged in any way – either a portion of, or the entire deposit will be forfeit and used to pay for repair costs.

• If the scooter damage exceeds the deposit, the  credit card on file will be charged the balance.

• Participants agree that any scenario regarding ‘deposit forfeiture’ that may arise which is not listed on this webpage or website is reserved by the Company, in its favor, as reason to withhold a portion of, or the entire sum of the deposit to pay for late fees and/or damages of any kind. The Company also reserves the legal right to charge the participant’s credit card for any balance due that exceeds the initial $150 deposit.
